Stonewards Lore Pages: Where to Find Them in the Caves
What Lore Pages are
Lore Pages are collectibles hidden in the mines. The clearest official statement is the Hotfix 0.1.5 line: “Added new Lore Pages to discover in the caves.” They sit inside the same collection-mission system as pets, confirmed by the 0.1.6 fix for “collectible missions that could fail to progress correctly, affecting Pet and Lore Page collection.”
They are also the only piece of narrative Stonewards has. This is a game with no story mode, no cutscenes and no dialogue tree — the lore is scattered underground and you dig it up.
The two achievements
Two of the game’s 20 achievements track this collection, and the gap between them is one of the most telling numbers on the whole achievement list:
| Achievement | Global unlock rate | What it implies |
|---|---|---|
| Know the History | 62.1% | Most players find some Lore Pages — this is a mid-run milestone, not a completionist one |
| More about the History | 7.2% | The second-rarest achievement in the game. Only the Artificer unlock (11.1%) is comparable |
Put another way: about six in ten players start the collection, and fewer than one in thirteen gets far into it. That drop-off is steeper than for any other pair on the list — see the full table on the unlocks page.
Why the collection is so hard to finish
Three documented reasons, none of which are about the pages being well hidden:
- The set keeps growing. Hotfix 0.1.5 added more Lore Pages on August 14, three days after Early Access launch. A collection target that moves is a collection target you cannot clear.
- The tracker was broken. Until Hotfix 0.1.6 on August 18, collectible missions could fail to register Lore Page pickups at all. Anything you collected in the first week may simply not have counted.
- Runs are short and the mine is procedural. You dig between waves, on a clock, in generated tunnels. There is no methodical sweep of a fixed map — see waves and the mining clock.
Parchment
A related term shows up in the patch notes: Hotfix 0.1.3 fixed “an incorrect resource requirement for the Parchment on Map 2.” Parchment is therefore a Map 2 object with a resource cost attached, and players search for “stonewards game parchment” alongside lore pages.
Whether Parchment is the crafting material for a Lore Page, a separate collectible, or something else, the studio has not said. This page notes the connection and stops there.
What has never been published
- How many Lore Pages exist. No total, in any official source.
- What they say. No transcript, no summary, nothing on the store page.
- Where they spawn. The caves are procedurally generated, so a static location list is not merely unpublished — it is unlikely to be meaningful.
Any Stonewards page offering a numbered Lore Page location list should be read with that in mind.
Practical advice that is actually grounded
Listen. Stonewards signals buried things through audio rather than the UI — the same design that produces the “treasure hum” players have asked for an accessibility toggle on, and the hidden chest-room audio the community has catalogued. Hotfix 0.1.6 tightened pet audio range specifically so sound could work as a locator. Slow down between veins and let the mine tell you where to dig.
And check your version. If you are on anything before 0.1.6, update before you start collecting seriously.
