Stonewards Patch Notes: Every Hotfix from 0.1.3 to 0.1.8
The current version
Hotfix 0.1.8, released August 26, 2026. In the same announcement the studio wrote that it is “now full focus toward our major September update, which is currently in active development.”
Six updates in the first fifteen days of Early Access is an unusually fast cadence for a two-person team, and it is the single strongest signal about this game’s support. Every entry below is dated from the official Steam announcement feed for app 4502710.

0.1.8 — August 26, 2026
The quality-of-life and safety patch.
- Temporary multiplayer pause between waves. After everyone picks their end-of-wave upgrade, the game stays paused until any player presses Continue. Works alongside the 60-second auto-select from 0.1.7, “so one AFK player can’t block the run indefinitely.” The studio calls this a temporary solution.
- Anti-stall measures for enemies. If combat stays at very low intensity for too long, enemies may disengage and return to attacking the Wall or the King. Explicitly a first step.
- Expanded save and backup system. Up to 20 local backup saves, stored separately from Steam Cloud, with automatic fallback if the main progression save fails to load. An in-game restore interface is planned.
- Fixes: enemies attacking the Wall or King from across the map; minimum speed for bounced projectiles; Staff rarity not affecting Healer healing and Mage damage; Artificer bombs merging when thrown close together; other classes taking Artificer bombs left on the Crafter; a Life on Crit exploit from hitting teammates; input blocked after dying while emoting; the Unstuck / Teleport Back button; a disconnect during a Bed revive permanently breaking that Bed; missing damage numbers in multiplayer; another invisible collision on the Dungeon Map; the ”?” room indicator vanishing too early; items being moved into dedicated special slots; a 2-second delay before Return to Hub becomes clickable.
0.1.7 — August 21, 2026
The balance patch, and the most consequential one so far.
- New playable Crossbows.
- 60-second timer on multiplayer upgrade selections, with auto-select.
- Gold from digging rebalanced upward so digging “should now reward noticeably more Gold and feel fairer compared to combat.”
- Seven rings retuned: Jump Height, Knockback Chance, Life Steal, Enemy Item Drop Chance and Sprint Speed reduced per upgrade; Companion Damage and Movement Speed increased.
- Hunter and Companion improved: faster, longer-ranged Companion with more health and slightly more damage; Poison and Fire damage now scale with the player’s attack damage, with Poison duration reduced to compensate.
- Artificer bombs can roll Gold Coin drops on each block destroyed rather than one per explosion.
- Healer improved: wider healing projectile collision, small AoE on impact, self-healing by shooting at your own feet, and the ability to heal the Hunter’s Companion. The Companion can also be healed at the Fireplace with the Fireplace upgrade.
- Fixes: Dungeon Map collision reworked (invisible projectile blockers, oversized prop and rampart colliders, walls not blocking projectiles); blocking zones on the Bastion battlefield; enemies clipping into dead bushes; chests duplicating at the Chest Opener NPC; Dungeon recycling giving wrong resources; Status Effect upgrades not appearing for some classes; a softlock when a player died just before the King defeated the boss; bomb resources spawning inside terrain; controller input bypassing unlock requirements; movement continuing while the Pause Menu was open.
0.1.6 — August 18, 2026
- Character Screen now shows the missions required to unlock each character.
- Endless Mode difficulty scaling reworked to a non-linear progression.
- Archer’s ranged and charged attack damage slightly reduced — the only class damage nerf in Early Access.
- Projectile Bonus upgrade support added for the Mage and Healer.
- Fixes: collectible missions failing to progress for Pet and Lore Page collection; resource duplication from Artificer bombs thrown at a specific distance from terrain; player velocity not reset on death (players launched into the air after revival); input blocked during upgrade selections; pet sound hearing distance reduced; the white terrain layer on Map 2 toned down; bush colliders stopping arrows.
0.1.5 — August 14, 2026
- New Lore Pages added to discover in the caves.
- Blacksmith maximum level raised from 101 to 999.
- Gold Coin drops from Artificer bombs adjusted.
- Fixes: missions progressing in the Hub (including headshot and player-death missions); the Toggler not unlocking until a restart; blocks destroyed by bombs not counting toward missions or the end-of-run recap; Steam Overlay causing menus to scroll endlessly; depositing into the Blacksmith or Wall Builder from any distance; out-of-bounds protection on the Dungeon map; dead players or companions holding gates open; a recover/teleport option for stuck dead players; the second Ballista damage upgrade showing a wrong value.
0.1.4 — August 13, 2026
- Optional setting to reduce the low-resolution effect, added for players experiencing motion sickness.
- More detailed Ring and Tome descriptions in the shop, so effects are clear before purchase.
- Hit effect brightness reduced; Gold Coin missions rebalanced; Hunter’s Companion Attack and Health increased.
- Fixes: Platinum Ore missing its icon, which had prevented it being picked up or used; Map 2 props dropping Map 1 Stone; bombs destroying veins without dropping all resources; digging textures differing between players; projectile collision against enemies; a stuck charge effect when blocking mid-charge; enemy health bars overflowing during Infinite Waves; backup saves unusable when the main save failed.
0.1.3 — August 12, 2026
The first post-launch patch, aimed almost entirely at co-op.
- Multiplayer progression fixed: it had been awarded only to the host. Map unlocks, character unlocks and mission progression are now shared with connected players.
- Ring rarity scaling reworked so higher-rarity rings provide stronger effects.
- Rewards for the 10 and 30 Missions Completed milestones un-swapped; cost of additional slots adjusted.
- Fixes: players stuck on the end-of-run screen when the host continued into Infinite Mode; client health exceeding maximum; enemies stuck near the cave; Archers unable to hit or be hit near the stairs; Trebuchet projectiles not exploding on the ground; Slow and Fireball failing to collide with the ground; Map 1 collision areas; the Parchment resource requirement on Map 2.
Before Early Access
The demo ran from June 2 to July 11, 2026 and received its own updates (0.1.5 through 0.1.10), including improved campfire healing on June 12. The studio pulled it deliberately — see what happened to the demo.
